Field Service Technician

Virginia, Charlottesville, 22901 Charlottesville USA

Full-time

We are currently hiring In-Home Service Technicians. Most of your day-to-day work will consist of driving the company van to customers’ homes so you can perform the installation and maintenance of Satellite systems. We will also train you in additional service lines as soon as possible to increase your earning potential.

You will be expected to build rapport, troubleshoot, and ensure every customer experience is positive. The work will be performed both inside and outside of the customer’s homes or buildings. You will need to be able to lift and move up to 60 - 80 lbs as well as feel comfortable working on ladders with a height of up to 28-36 feet.

An average technician can make $19-$26/hour once they complete training. However, some can make even more than that by taking on more jobs and maximizing the opportunities that MasTec offers (all of these opportunities are covered in training). In most cases you will be paid per job completed and not per hour. For the training time, your set pay will be per hour; but after you are done with training, you will be moved to another payment method called "piece work," in which you will be paid per job completed. Installations are usually paid around $50-$80 and for a service call the rate is between $20-$30.

Our technicians average 2-5 jobs a day based on customer demand and work order type. Organized, efficient techs can make more taking on more jobs- your earning potential is up to you.

You can make $50,000 to $60,000 in this position and maybe more.

Here are some of the benefits that are offered.

Competitive wages – performance-based compensation and incentives (if you do more, you earn more)

Paid training - focused on safety, customer service, technology, products, and on-site sales techniques

Deeply discounted DIRECTV

High quality tools, uniform, work van and gas card

Medical, dental and vision benefits options

401(k) with a company match (that’s free money)

Employee stock purchase plan

Paid time off

Highly independent work environment

A clear promotion path to Field Technician Supervisor and Site Manager - 80% of our Operation Managers started as Technicians
