Geologist - 6+ years experience. Remediation
Virginia, Arlington, 22201 Arlington USAAECOM is seeking a Geologist tied to the Arlington, VA office. This position, within our Federal Remediation practice, will participate in a team to help execute a variety of Federal investigation/remediation projects. The appropriately qualified applicant will demonstrate experience and working knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements, geologic principles, and site characterization methods. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Support planning and executing projects for the DoD in the areas of environmental compliance and/or cleanupPerform environmental regulatory research and analysisDevelop and implement environmental solutions and best management practices; and support environmental planning activitiesInterface with clients to identify technical requirementsWrite work planning documents (e.g., UFP-QAPP) and technical reportsLead and perform field work including sampling and data collection at project sitesParticipate in teams of engineers and scientists in execution of project tasksAnalyze data sets, draw conclusions, and develop risk management recommendationsManage personal workloads; apprising project managers of progress and obstacles, and presenting project outputs for final deliveryMeet required schedules while producing quality workWork both in a team environment and without supervisionStrong work ethic and professional demeanorUtilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies develop technical solutions to complex problems.Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Perform work with minimal direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.Plans and organizes project studies. Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures. Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems. May oversee the work of less experienced scientists.
