PLUS Communications is a full-service communications firm based in Arlington, Virginia. PLUS Communications leads award-winning campaigns integrating public affairs, corporate communications, digital, advertising and media buying. PLUS means more!We are looking for an experienced Public Affairs leader to support the Managing Partners (MP) at PLUS Communications in a centralized, operating capacity managing client, execution, and new business needs.The SD will help support the Managing Partner (MP) in their role and serve as liaison between the MP and colleagues, team members, partners, and other key stakeholders. The SD will help determine which opportunities, people and concerns require direct attention, which can be deferred, and which can be handled by others. Additionally, they will create agendas for team or client meetings and preside over certain meetings at the request of the MP. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on client and project management experience working with a top political and corporate communications professional in the field. Responsibilities

Working closely with the MP’s scheduler/EA to help determine priorities and prep materials; facilitate internal prep meetings with other team members

Draft memos, proposals, new business materials working hand-in-hand with the MP

Serve as a liaison between internal teams and client teams overseen by the MP; fill in as a representative on client calls where appropriate

Attend meetings, identify deliverables, enforce timelines/deadlines internally and externally for key client accounts

Lead strategic planning processes across client accounts

Support operational functions led by the MP (i.e., working closely with the IT team on operational protocol for cybersecurity)

Build long-term, high-trust relationships with internal stakeholders, strategic partners, and vendors

Requirements

5-8 years of experience as a Chief of Staff, Director of Communications or equivalent experience in a similar role

Communications and public affairs experience – either on the Hill, in a campaign setting or an agency environment

Excellent emotional intelligence and people skills with a passion for developing cohesive team strategy

High level of integrity, judgment, and discretion to manage the full scope of confidential information

Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions and able to make fast decisions under pressure while understanding the unique concerns and preferences of the organization/client

Proven success completing complex projects with numerous stakeholders on a tight timeline

Experience with budget management
