Mid-Sr SQL Server Database Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Mid/Sr SQL Server Database Engineer in support of a large platform services enterprise hosting environment. This opportunity includes working with a large enterprise of systems supporting tens of thousands of systems and endpoints.Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 to 5:00 PM core hours with occasional after hours’ onsite work to support both a NIPR and SIPR environment.

• Work with SQL Server\database STIGs and mitigating vulnerabilities
• Operation and Maintenance of SQL Server 2014 - 2016
• Supporting SharePoint database servers
• Working with SQL Server Availability Groups and Windows Failover Cluster
• Performing deployments and upgrades supporting application developers
• Troubleshooting and resolving system outages and incidents.
• Creating documentation to include CRQ’s, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Orders, Incidents and After Action Reviews
• Monitoring SQL Server backups

• This position requires an active DOD Top Secret clearance.
• Possess DoD 8570.01-M/DoD 8140 Certification IAW established mandate prior to start of work - IAT Level II required (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP); IAT Level III is desirable (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH). Applicants not meeting this requirement will not be considered

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or at least ten (10) years of equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
• Minimum of six years of relevant IT work experience
• Past experience administering Windows and SQL Server systems
• Knowledge of backups, snapshots, and restores
• Experience of Group Policy, Registry, and Windows Server security
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts and technologies.
• Past experience working with vulnerability reports and STIG reports
• Experience and knowledge of SCAP tools and SCAP reporting
