Software Engineer

SBD is looking for a

• Provide engineering support for the web / application development environment to include modifying / maintaining business applications using releases and utilities from the manufacturer administering and maintaining the Linux virtual machines used by our client to host key applications and databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server).
• Provide cloud application engineering support for modernization efforts to include migration to AWS Cloud platform.
• Redesign existing applications to break current tight integration processes between systems into web services/servlets Integrates data exchange between systems using system API and develop web services / web hooks Modernizes current applications to leverage the cloud architecture.

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related experience.
• 2+ years of software development experience in a CI/CD environment.
• Experience programming in Java and/or C#.
• Familiarity with Linux administration and database administration (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server).
• Working knowledge of PL/SQL.
• Working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure Cloud.
• Successful design/build/deploy Web Services - data exchange/interface with systems, XML, JSON, REST.
• CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent).
• AWS Certified Developer (or equivalent).
• Must be a with an Active DOD Secret Clearance.
• Must live within a commutable distance to Arlington, VA in order to work onsite full time.
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
• Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless a medical exemption or religious accommodation is approved. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their last dose of their vaccine. Confirmation of vaccine is required.

• Scripting (Window and Unix) knowledge DISA STIG familiarity
• Proficient using AWS DevOps and AWS services such as EC2, ELB, Cloudwatch, Lambda, Codebuild, Jenkins, Maven, GitHub, Node.js
• Familiar with Container, Docker
• Design/build/deploy Web Services - data exchange/interface with systems, XML, JSON, REST
• .Net Proficient with Structured Query Language (SQL)
