Looking for somewhere new to grow? Otter Brook Carpentry is seeking an experienced residential builder to join our team in a leadership position. The Carpentry Foreman provides job site oversight, leads a hard-working, passionate crew, and maintains Otter Brook Carpentry’s standards of excellent quality, efficiency, safety, and customer experience through the building process.

About Us:

Otter Brook Carpentry specializes in custom residential construction with a focus on industry-leading framing. We take our clients’ visions and make them a reality by providing the highest level of craftsmanship and employing efficient processes that reduce waste, conserve energy, and make smart use of time. We take on projects in the greater Burlington area and the upper Green Mountains (from Stowe to Waitsfield).

Job Duties:

-Form weekly and daily “game plans” to guide the crew and keep job progress on track

-Lead the crew on the job site, including making decisions regarding carpentry best practices

-Participate hands-on in the building process

-Communicate closely with the superintendent about job progress, unexpected material shortages, or concealed conditions that will change the execution of the work

-Transport job trailer to and from job site

-Pick up building materials as necessary

Schedule:

-“4x10” schedule, Monday-Thursday 7:30 AM-5:30 PM with 1-hour unpaid lunch break

-Stable, year-round work

-Opportunities for more or less hours if desired

Compensation and Benefits:

-$35-45 per hour, based on experience

-401(k) with 2% match beginning after 6 months of employment

-Company truck or mileage reimbursement at IRS standard rate ($0.67 per mile)

-1% commission on all leads that become jobs

-72 hours of paid time off per year

-Room for growth within the company
