RESPEC is seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer to support a State of Utah Tax Commission technology team. This is an opportunity to apply deep GenTax expertise on high-impact public-sector systems that support essential tax and motor-vehicle services.As a Senior Application Developer, you will design, enhance, and maintain solutions within the GenTax COTS platform. Your work will directly support applications across Motor Vehicle Title and Registration, Motor Vehicle Enforcement, Tax Processing, and Property Tax. You will partner with business and technical stakeholders to turn operational needs into reliable, scalable technical solutions while helping guide development quality across the team.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, maintain, and optimize GenTax applications using C#, SQL, and Visual Studio. Create advanced SQL queries and develop or enhance SOAP and RESTful API services that enable secure, effective integration across business systems.Work closely with cross-functional partners to gather functional requirements, conduct system analysis, map workflows and processes, and translate business needs into clear technical specifications and implementation plans.Perform code reviews, uphold development standards and best practices, troubleshoot production issues involving performance, functionality, and integrations, and proactively recommend improvements. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers across skill levels while contributing ideas informed by current technologies and industry practices.
