With a five-year base period and three one-year options, KBR ensures these bases operate smoothly, allowing deployed personnel to focus on mission execution.Job SummaryPerforms ground handling and servicing of aircraft arriving and departing the airfield IAW applicable Technical Orders. Escorts transient aircraft to designated parking locations. Performs aircraft recovery, servicing, visual inspection, launch and end of runway (EOR) inspections on transient tactical aircraft IAW applicable AF instructions and Technical Orders. Maintains aircraft support equipment (SE), forms and records. Provide aircrews with maintenance and supply support. Tows AGE equipment as required. Handles various products such as liquid oxygen, gaseous oxygen, liquid and gaseous nitrogen, turbine engine oil, hydraulic fluid and JP-8 fuel. Exposed to hazardous noise that requires wear of hearing protection and other PPE. After attending training, performs as crashed damaged disabled aircraft recovery team member. Shift work is required. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor. Roles and Responsibilities
Assists aircrews with securing of aircraft during inclement weather. Servicing includes aircraft parking, chocking, grounding, marshaling, towing, refueling, engine oil, hydraulic system and pneumatic systems. Performs operator care and servicing maintenance on assigned vehicles.
Required to push, pull and lift heavy equipment.
Works on or near various types of aircraft with or without operating engines on the flight line in various weather conditions to include hot, cold, rain and wind.
Perform a range of aircraft services, including parking, chocking, grounding, marshaling, towing, refueling, engine oil, hydraulic systems, pneumatic and both gaseous and liquid oxygen system servicing.
Assist Cryogenics work center in replenishing liquid oxygen carts. Replenish gaseous oxygen and nitrogen cylinder bottles as required from servicing carts.
Understand and apply requirements for aircraft crashed damaged or disabled aircraft recovery (CDDAR).
Demonstrate proficiency in towing tactical or cargo aircraft, specifically related to crash recovery and transient alert procedures.
Basic Qualifications
US Citizen
Must have a valid US driver’s license.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have active U.S. Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Team member meets the qualifications of the tactical/cargo aircraft maintenance field or specialist/back-shop fields or the civilian equivalent.
Must have a minimum of two years’ experience as a tactical aircraft or large air framed aircraft Crew Chief/Plane Captain or Cargo Aircraft Handler.
Maintenance, back-shop or specialist fields and possess technical expertise and knowledge to handle and service all transient aircraft.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of environmental laws concerning the proper disposition of Hazardous Materials.
Graduated from a USAF Crashed Damaged Disabled Aircraft Recovery course (CDDAR) dated from 2014 to present.
