Heidelberg Materials North America, previously known as Lehigh Hanson, operates more than 450 locations with approximately 9,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada.We are looking for an experienced Disbursements professional (Accounting Support Specialist) to join our Accounts Payable team and help lead the disbursements team. In this position you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activity of disbursement operations. This includes training, motivating and developing team members, and streamlining all payment processes while ensuring accuracy. You’ll also be responsible for account reconciliations, escheatment, and other month end close related tasks. The ideal candidate will provide guidance with implementing best practice for payments, and in turn will update procedures as changes occur. This position requires an individual to be an expert in their field, a team player, detailed oriented with a sense of urgency while being able to multi-task and work in a fast paced and changing environment.What you’ll get to do

Oversee the day-to day operations within the disbursements team

Drive change and process improvement; identify and implement best practices

Develop reporting, including managerial and operational

Lead by example

Process payments across multiple ERPs as needed

Oversee the research on stale dated checks prior to sending for escheatment

Establish and maintain open communication with internal and external customers.

Establish and maintain closing working relationship with Heidelberg Materials Treasury Group.

Essential Experience and Skills

Minimum 3 years accounts payable (disbursement) experience

Previous lead or supervisory experience

Excellent communication skills both with the ability to maintain a professional approach.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to working in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to meet challenging deadlines

Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERPs)

Preferred Experience and Skills

5 years accounts payable (disbursement) experience

SAP proficiency

JDE proficiency

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience
