Welder - Sheet Metal Duct
Texas, Houston, 77001 Houston USAAs a MIG Sheet Metal Welder with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you’ll support a well-established, mechanical construction company working at a hospital in the Medical Center of Houston, TX. This position is welding 18 Gauge stainless steel sheet metal for duct installation. In this temporary role, you’ll earn $28 to $30 an hour, enjoy weekly pay and health insurance benefits.
Monday – Friday, 6 am – 2:30 pm, with occasional OT
Job Details
Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products and components according to specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
Laying out and measuring pieces to specifications, cutting and shaping material, and assembling and joining the pieces.
Performing several short welds at strategic locations to secure the position of the thin sheet metal.
Grinding and polishing rough surfaces or the seams and joints between two sheets of metals.
Assisting with hanging and Installing Commercial Duct & Risers for HVAC Systems in a hospital
Identify and troubleshoot issues or defects in sheet metal products or installations and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including properly storing tools and equipment, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries while working with sheet metal.
Job Requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age
Current MIG welding certification in required
OSHA-10 Construction Certification is required
Minimum of 4 years of experience required in MIG welding on sheet metal for ductwork.
Ability to fabricate and MIG weld on 18 Gauge Stainless Steel Sheet Metal for ductwork.
Ability to assist in the installation of the ductwork as needed.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
Prior experience working from heights and in tight spaces required.
Position does require a drug screen
Position does require a background check
The hourly rate for this position is $28-$30/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
