Automation Personnel Services is looking for an Entry Level Shop Helper for a company based in Tomball, Texas. We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Shop Helper to join the metal fabrication team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, takes pride in precision, and thrives in a fast-paced shop environment.

Pay Rate

$14 per hour

Schedule and Hours

Monday – Friday

7:00am – 3:30pm (with some OT available)

Hours and workdays are subject to vary.

Shop Helper Duties and Responsibilities

Operate grinders and other power tools safely and efficiently

Use measuring tape and calipers to ensure accurate dimensions

Assist with cutting, deburring, and prepping metal materials

Load and unload raw materials and finished products

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Support welders, machinists, and fabricators as needed

Perform basic maintenance on shop equipment

Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE

Shop Helper Qualifications and Requirements

Experience using grinders, power tools, measuring tape, and calipers

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods

Basic understanding of metal shop operations

Strong work ethic and attention to detail

Forklift experience is a plus (but not required)

Background check (required)

Drug screen (required)

Bilingual (preferred)
