Description We are in search of an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in the Energy/Natural Resources industry located in Houston, Texas. As an Accounting Manager/Supervisor, you will be handling significant responsibilities including managing general ledger, overseeing payroll and commissions, and performing various corporate accounting duties. Responsibilities: Supervise and manage the process of payroll and commissions on a global level. Execute the review and approval of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Collaborate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explaining balances and transactions. Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. Ensure reconciliation of all assigned accounts in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles. Oversee global statutory audits. Work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, adhering to internal deadlines. Develop and implement process improvements in corporate accounting activities. Directly supervise a team of accountants, including planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, and resolving problems. Exhibit a hands-on supervisory approach and attention to detail. Requirements Must have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role within the Energy/Natural Resources industry. Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP Accounting is essential. Experience with Month End Close and Consolidations is required. Proficiency in using SAP software is expected. Should have proven ability to manage and supervise a team of accounting professionals. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A master's degree or relevant certifications would be advantageous. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for liaising with other departments and stakeholders. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required for reviewing financial reports and forecasts. Must be capable of developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures. Should have the ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure. Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and uphold all company policies and regulations. Experience with financial software and systems implementation is beneficial.
