It is one of the nation's original three comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer InstituteJOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESResearch Study CoordinationCommunicates with patients to clinical research studies and creates all required documentation of the reimbursement process from the medical record.Coordinates follow-up communication with study participants; initiates patient-specific research follow-up by completing entries in Excel databases (or EPIC/OneConnect as needed) and following SOP for entering protocol-required reimbursable metrics (visits, biopsies, imaging studies, etc.) required for visit.Serves as the patient's main point of contact for protocols; communicates with study PIs and faculty about patient travel metrics; communicates with study sponsors for clinical research finance-related data/protocol needs related to patient travel.Interact and respond to Patient telephone and email request from both inside and outside of the institution including Industry Sponsors, various departments, and follow up with study participants/patients.Works with study coordinators within and between departments to ensure a seamless transition of patient care information of assigned clinical research studies.Assists as needed with administration, distribution and collection of patient receipts and pick-up and delivery of clinical finance research-related materials, to include mailing of reimbursement reports if needed.Reviews reimbursable items on protocol processes after study activation.Follows up with Investigators, research study team members for the timely completion of study specific financial transactions, tasks related to patient travel reimbursement duties, and financial reimbursable transactions necessitating Supervisor approval.Research Data OrganizationMaintains (or develops as needed) detailed Excel spreadsheets and databases for the collection of research data, to include tracking, data entry, accrual, data auditing and screening log(s).Manages and files study materials and data collection and evaluates data in accordance with methods requested.Enters data to databases and collects and presents information as requested.Informs sponsor CRAs, physicians, mid-level health practitioners, research nurses, data managers, and patients (as needed) of reimbursement procedures and protocol requirements.Utilizes knowledge of Microsoft office, including Excel, Word and institutional programs software, in addition to web conferencing platforms.Works with data coordinators within department to ensure transition of information collected.Responsible for identifying pending clinical research finance data for participants and contacting them to establish date and time of receipts for reimbursement.Research ProjectsParticipates in clinical research finance projects affecting research studies within the department, e.g. designs tracking tools and databases, develops checklists and process flows, research protocol trackers, etc.Assists in preparation of information and reports as requested.Education and TrainingAttends departmental research meetings and conferences.Obtains supplemental education as needed through use of reference materials, lectures, etc.Willingness to develop basic knowledge and understanding of clinical research finance administration framework and regulatory requirements.Other duties as assigned.EDUCATIONRequired: High school diploma or equivalentPreferred: Bachelor's degreeEXPERIENCERequired: Four years of related experience.
