This Clinical Dietitian (RD/LD) position is responsible for providing outpatient nutrition care at the MD Anderson Cancer Center main campus in the Texas Medical Center. The RD/LD must be proficient in a wide range of clinical nutrition assessment and nutrition education for adults and children.This position will work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.The Clinical Nutrition department at MD Anderson consists of registered dietitians that provide comprehensive nutrition care for our patients. Registered Dietitians (RDs) are experts in nutrition with extensive training, and our dietitians work with MD Anderson's medical teams to pinpoint opportunities for nutrition intervention or support.O ur services include education, assessment and counseling in:Cancer prevention;Nutrition intervention prior to, during, and after treatment;Management of treatment side effects;Specialized diets; andManagement of specialized feeding regimens like tube feeds and IV parenteral nutrition.MD Anderson offers our employees:

This includes communicating recommendations for nutrition intervention in the medical record and on multi-disciplinary rounds, providing nutrition education to patients and health care professionals. Specific responsibilities include assessment of patient's nutrition status, and recommending, implementing, monitoring and management of nutritional intervention. Provides clinical practice leadership to student and other member of the medical are team and participation in the development of clinical dietitians and training of interns. Provides education within the institution and in the community and participates in department quality and performance improvement initiatives/projects.Cross coverage in the inpatient hospital services and other outpatient clinics may be required depending on staffing.EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's degree and completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) approved dietetic internship or its equivalent.Preferred: Master's degree in directly related field would be a plus.EXPERIENCE:Required: Four years of clinical dietitian experience.
