This position is for a Summer Internship working with one of our IBM Z, Cognitive Systems or Storage Technical Support teams. We are looking for analytical puzzle solvers who thrive in a driven enterprise customer support environment. You can work both individually and as part of a motivated worldwide team to assist IBM customers to perform problem determination and problem source identification. We are seeking demonstrated problem solvers with proven communication skills.IBM Systems teams work with Development, Engineering Test, RAS (Reliability and Serviceability) and others early in the development cycle to learn the designs and implementation of systems/subsystems, then act as an interface to the field in resolving complex problems for customers. You must have the desire to wow customers, articulate solutions and options, and take the opportunity to interact with end users, as well as developers and sales teams, to be a well-rounded contributor. People in this role perform break-fix support, debugging and analysis, critical situation support, customer impact event repair action analysis and field engineering change support. They participate in Early Ship Programs in preparation for Post GA (General Availability). The challenge in this position is to be able to interpret complex hardware problems that span across multiple client and server platforms.You will be responsible for communicating action plans to the customer or IBM representative as appropriate. You will also be responsible for recommending and implementing new improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes.
