Staff Accountant

Description If you're looking to further your career in accounting and enjoy solving complex problems, Robert Half has a terrific short-term contract / contract to permanent Staff Accountant position available for you to check out. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Grapevine, Texas region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.How you will make an impact

Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision Requirements - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

Strong attention to detail

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

Comprehensive knowledge of bank reconciliations

Strong familiarity with QuickBooks

Command of Balance Sheet Reconciliation

Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Proficient in ERP systems
