Repair Technician

General Purpose

Tempest Telecom Solutions is seeking a Telecom Repair Technician to work with our Services team in Coppell, Texas. Work includes elements of testing, repairing, and troubleshooting telecommunications infrastructure equipment. Hours of Operation are Mon.-Fri. 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Job Description:

The Telecom Repair Technician role will include the following roles and responsibilities:

Diagnose and isolate failures.

Repair equipment and components for multiple platforms and technologies, including rectifiers, power supplies, transport, wireless, and data

Document all work, and provide status updates daily

Attend team meetings as requested by Operations Manager

Request parts and components to support repair and troubleshooting as needed

Manage time effectively

Assist with the development of written procedures covering troubleshooting and analysis

Perform rework on boards as requested

Job Requirements

Telecom Repair experience

Component-level diagnostics

Ability to follow applicable standards

Solder and desolder experience both through-hole and surface-mount electronic components

Basic knowledge of various Electronic Test Equipment including Digital Multimeter, Oscilliscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Component Analyzer

to troubleshoot electronic circuits

Ability to follow written and verbal technical instructions

Good oral communication skills

Ability to handle many different assignments at any given time

Basic knowledge of computer applications: Outlook, Excel, Word

Minimum Qualification:

Associate Degree in Electronics or equivalent work experience
