We are looking for a self-driven, insightful, results-oriented Business Intelligence Engineer to join the North America Transportation team. Our team mission is to drive improvements to customer experience, performance, and cost across Amazon’s transportation systems, from initial delivery promise to final delivery to our customers. This is a tremendous opportunity for Business Intelligence Engineers who want to develop new and innovative ways of interacting with and interpreting business key performance indicators, and shape the future of Amazon Transportation systems.Key job responsibilities
Work with business program owners to build data sets, reports, dashboards, and other products that answer their specific business questions.
Create, support, improve, and deep dive transportation metrics to provide actionable insights related to delivery cost and customer experience. This will require data gathering and analysis, partnering with external teams, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
Develop scalable and self-serve analytical and visualization solutions to identify anomalies and support team projects. This will involve creating and maintaining reports and dashboards using tools such as SQL, AWS Redshift/S3, Tableau, QuickSight, Shiny, R, and Amazon Metrics, etc.
Perform ad hoc deep dives to understand drivers for transportation issues and opportunities, as well as support North American and Global transportation teams with special projects.
Collaborate with data engineers/scientists and other business intelligence engineers to design data architecture and implement data pipelines to automate manual solutions.
Develop a deep understanding of Amazon’s supply chain and AWS’s vast data sources and tools.
About the teamWe are the central planning and forecasting team for North America transportation. We integrate the E2E customer fulfillment, across both the short term (13 weeks) and long term (3 to 5 years) horizon.Basic Qualifications
1+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
Knowledge of how to improve code quality and optimizes BI processes (e.g. speed, cost, reliability)
BS in Computer Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Economics/Applied Economics or in another quantitative and engineering field
SQL knowledge and good understanding of data warehousing concepts.
Demonstrated ability to quickly analyze large data sets to identify complex patterns and relationships resulting in operational insights and actionable projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis

The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market.
