ResponsibilitiesData analysts seek to understand the questions the business needs to answer and determine whether those questions can be answered by data. They must understand the technical issues associated with collecting data, analyzing data, and reporting. They must be able to recognize trends and patterns.

Analyze and format data to tell a specific story through data visualization and infographics
Solve internal and external data visualization and communications challenges in a variety of formats including infographics, charts, diagrams, and maps
Participate in project meetings and discussions relating to appropriate data visualization/information needs to meet project requirements
Develop intuitive and attractive static and interactive data visualizations using routine customer activity monitoring data
Interpret and produce unique data visualizations for a variety of implementation client’s products, services, marketing campaigns, etc.
Distill quantitative and qualitative data to communicate compelling stories to diverse audiences
Establish data visualization standards and explore new, cutting-edge tools to consistently raise those standards
Develop, document, and maintain reports, and dashboards in various IT systems throughout the organization.
Provide information delivery from the various system applications to end-users, through a variety of reporting systems, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Provide support to end-users on reporting applications: answer questions, troubleshoot issues, and research solutions.
Support analytical project needs, research and implement solutions, answer questions and troubleshoot issues.
Consult with various other teams to determine system functional specifications to enhance business processes, efficiencies, and information flow through reporting and data visualization tools.
Analyzing data using statistical techniques and providing reports
Developing and implementing databases and data collection systems
Acquiring data from primary and secondary sources and maintain data systems
Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets
Filtering and cleaning data

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of professional design experience working in the field of data visualization/information design
Advanced knowledge of data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel
Advanced SQL/Query writing capabilities
HTML 5, CSS 3, and Javascript knowledge is a plus
Strong organizational skills: ability to prioritize, solve problems creatively, and work under tight deadlines
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and oral communications skills
A strong electronic portfolio with a variety of samples
