Lead Accountant, Manufacturing at Canoo Technologies, Inc.

Lead Accountant, Manufacturing (Salary Range: $165,200/yr to $190,000/yr): Perform accounting duties with respect to the Manufacturing team and products. Report on operations performance, CapEx investment, inventory management, direct labor cost, and indirect labor. Assist with creating financial forecasts and budgets that will allow Canoo to meet its manufacturing and marketing goals. Serve as the financial link to Canoo’s Contract Manufacturing partners. Support Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) with ad-hoc analyses and reporting on the profitability and cash flow performance of assigned projects or programs related to manufacturing. Develop and prepare monthly dashboard publishing financial metrics, including: Actuals vs. Budget and Forecast; BOM (Bills of Material) Cost consolidation and analysis; Scrap; Inventory; Direct Hourly Cost; and Indirect Cost. Prepare and publish full profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Implement a quantitative analysis process to drive “Make vs Buy” analyses for manufacturing products in-house or purchasing them from a third party to determine best sources for assemblies and vehicle components. Develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes, including inventory control and supply chain. Assess potential risks and opportunities facing the manufacturing department and programs assigned to the manufacturing department, from both external/market factors and internal decisions. Validate projected results against actual accounting values as needed.

Domestic travel required (less than 25%). Telecommuting permitted 3 days per week.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Business, or related field. 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as an Accountant, Controller, or a closely related occupation.

SKILLS: Must have:

1. Experience performing accounting and financial functions within an automotive manufacturing environment, including participating in asset auctions, determining standard costs, and measuring favorable and unfavorable variances.

2. Experience with the automotive manufacturing process, including assessing manufacturing capital expenditures (CapEx).

3. Experience building financial models (through quantitative analysis) and analyzing financials by extracting in Excel and SQL databases.

4. Experience with SQL programming.

5. Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP (enterprise resource planning) database.

6. Experience with Microsoft Power BI tool and Oracle Essbase database management system.

7. Experience using Six Sigma methodology.
