Freelance Community Managing Consultant

The LAUNCH Accelerator and its associated podcasts (”This Week in Startups,” “This Week in AI”) are seeking an experienced community manager to work on a freelance consulting basis.

This is either a remote position or in-person in our office in Austin, TX. You will learn a lot quickly and have ample opportunity for professional development.

What You’ll Do:

- Maintain, build, and support our founder and investor communities across a variety of platforms, including Discord, Circle, Slack, WhatsApp, and beyond

- Create and maintain community guidelines

- Serve as a vital point of contact for our founders, investors, and Syndicate members

- Welcome new members and guide them through the orientation and onboarding process

- Prompt lively discussions, spark engagement, and maintain a positive and supportive environment for members.

- Respond to community questions and connect members with the right LAUNCH staffer or team

- Monitor listener feedback and commentary across social media platforms while tracking engagement

- Surface interesting questions, trends, and community sentiment to the content and production teams

- Engage with listeners, viewers, and fans during livestreams and in-person events

Skills Required:

- 2+ years of relevant experience growing engaged communities

- Strong time management, prioritization, and communication skills

- Proficient at communications software (i.e., Mailchimp, Google Docs, Zapier, Keynote, Squarespace, Slack, Typeform, WordPress, Outreach.io, Notion, Crunchbase, etc.)

- Relentless positivity and dogged resilience — we're a scrappy team doing world-class work

- Self-starter who proactively anticipates problems and finds solutions
