Marketing and Development Associate
Texas, Austin, 73301 Austin USABlue Lapis Light is a Nonprofit Aerial Dance Organization located in South Austin.
Our mission is to create transcendent works of beauty that are offered as prayers for the planet by creating site-specific aerial dance works that align with our times and encompass our human experience. Blue Lapis Light transforms urban spaces and engages the environment and architecture with movement and music and is committed to diversity by providing equitable opportunities for artists, teachers, students and underserved communities.
The vision of Blue Lapis Light is to expand aerial dance into the community, to train new dancers and inspire audiences with a unique form of movement while making it accessible to all people.
The Marketing and Development Associate works alongside the executive director to share the responsibilities of marketing and development for Blue Lapis Light. Successful candidates have excellent communication skills, including being adept at communicating through multiple media platforms (website, e-marketing, social media, brochures, newsletters, video etc.) and is highly efficient in working with a fundraising database, organizing and implementing special events and promoting the overall mission of BLL.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
-Create marketing and communication deliverables, including web e-mail marketing content, social media posts and videos with the purpose of promoting BLL through various platforms.
-Coordinating media and press coverage for BLL productions.
-Serve as a BLL representative on assigned community events.
-Plan, organize, coordinate and assist with special events.
-Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of BLL donor database (Donor Tools). This includes basic donor information, donations, donor acknowledgement and reporting.
-Coordinate BLL in-kind donor acknowledgements.
-Increase donor outreach through direct personal connections and retain new donors and sponsors for events.
-Maintain website and class scheduling through the use of squarespace and acuity.
-Assist in donations for silent auctions and live auctions to increase donor giving and engagement during events.
-Provide assistance in cultivating new performance opportunities through community engagement and corporate connections for commissioned work.
-Design and create printed materials for events and performances.
Although this job is currently set for a part-time position. The intention is to have it be full-time within 1 year of hire, if financial goals and deliverables of the position are being met.
This job is primarily remote but may require rare travel to Pflugerville (Executive Director's Home Office), Blue Lapis Light Office, or around town for pick-ups or deliveries, or press meetings.
Hourly Rate: $22.50/Hour for 20 Hours Per Week 11-3 Monday through Friday (Schedule is flexible) and a $25 per pay period cell phone stipend.
