The OpportunityThe School Operations Team is focused on creating the conditions by which our schools can thrive by designing and leading efficient, safe, joyful, and just systems; working to remove obstacles to learning and finding creative solutions to challenges to enable the highest level of teaching and learning; and providing best-in-class customer service to families and staff members to ensure they feel welcomed, cared for and a valued member of our community.  The Assistant Principal of Operations (APO), a key member of the school’s Leadership Team, will lead implementation and maintenance of clear operational systems while building a data-driven, service-oriented culture. This position is central to the realization of our mission as it provides the School Leader and Assistant Principals (APs) the opportunity to focus almost exclusively on teaching and learning within the schools. The APO will, therefore, be an individual who embraces innovation and continuous improvement, is willing to jump into projects, and relishes the challenge of finding ways to work smarter and more efficiently, all in support of ensuring the instructional staff and leaders can stay focused on teaching and learning.Key ResponsibilitiesRecruits, Hires, Onboards, Develops and leads a high-performing teamBuilds a strong and diverse team with an inclusive culture that brings out each team member’s strengths and ignites actionsManages and develops others toward excellence in their role and with an eye toward their long-term developmentEstablishes ongoing, regular cadence to facilitate collaboration, training and support of the teamProgress monitors execution of responsibilities of the team in order to drive operational excellenceCreates and Drives school-based strategies to ensure kids are in seats every day and year over yearPartners with families to set attendance expectations for new and existing families Tracks data on a daily and cumulative basis and engages with key stakeholders weekly to identify trends and actionsEnsure that substitutes are booked and given attendance roster materialsWorks with school lead teams to train, invest, motivate and implement attendance proceduresPartners with SRE team to execute student recruitment effortsDevelops and execute school-based re-enrollment and cultivation plansDesign and continually evolve school-based operations policies and procedures such as arrival and dismissalImplements an ongoing monitoring system that reviews and addresses parent, teacher, and student feedbackCompletes safety drills and audits on given scheduleManages operational components of field lessonsMaintain regular communication rhythms with families regarding important school informationInforms and manages the school budget in partnership with the School LeaderProvides insight into non-personnel spending and data that can be used create a budget that meets the school's current and future needsLeverages district tools to simplify purchasing, and ensure school is in compliance with proper account managementPartners with School Support Partners (SSP) to ensure campus is safe and well maintained Serves as Campus Incident Command Leader and main point of contact for campus emergency management and communicationEnsures students and staff have needed access to appropriate software and hardware and technology issues are addressed promptlyProvides day-to-day tactical support in the areas of Transportation and Child Nutrition
