PROCUREMENT DIRECTS LEADER - CORPORATE OFFICE (AUSTIN, MN)HORMEL FOODS CORPORATIONTo save time applying, Hormel Foods does not offer sponsorship of job applicants for employment-based visas for this position at this time.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees commercial negotiations for all direct materials ($1.3B in spend), delivering YOY cost savings, with best in class cost, quality, and service levels to over 40 production sites; and the wholistic procurement contracts and projects for over $1B in spend by providing effective direction to team, leading continuous improvement projects, and leading personal development plans for each team member.

Own and drive Hormel’s supplier innovation and growth agenda as it relates to raw materials and packaging in partnership with internal teams, while making sure Hormel is a partner of choice for strategic suppliers for innovation growth.

People leader that provides strategic direction to the Direct Procurement staff, via regular 1:1 reviews to direct reports, guides supplier QBRs, and provides informal leadership to internal employees and suppliers on how to manage supply, develop strong and effective supplier relationships that benefit Hormel Foods Corporation, minimize sole source supply, and leads team to ensure contract compliance is met.

Oversees strategic sourcing events across critical categories and collaborates with R&D, Ops, Marketing, and Sales to develop and align future direction.

Defines and oversees cadence of monthly, quarterly, and annual updates to ensure compliance and manage risk.

Analyze market trends and supplier data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Collaborates with cross functional R&D, Procurement Finance, and Cost Accounting leaders, spanning Hormel Director levels and above, and leads strategic bi-annual reviews.

Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance.

Collaborate with internal partners and stakeholders to understand procurement needs and ensure timely and effective solutions.

Monitor and report on procurement metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and ethical practices in procurement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:Required

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

12+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related field, with 5-7 years of experience in a leadership role.

Proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes, contracts, and supplier relationships.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making.

Exceptional leadership, negotiation and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.

Executive presence and experience in influencing and gaining commitment from senior leadership and other key stakeholders to the actions that will advance their goals.

Proficiency in procurement software and tools; experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident or have the authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred

MBA in Supply Chain Management or related field.

Strong financial acumen and influencing skills with ability to collaborate cross functionally and across levels both internally as well as externally.

Purchasing or Supply Chain certifications.
