job summary:
The Software Development Manager is a technical expert regarding software development, integrations, and data management. This position will work within IT Department to manage the software development teams to create, maintain, and integrate IT Software systems. This role will also work very closely with the Business Department experts, other IT Department teams, and 3rd party vendor partners. location: Austin, Texasjob type: Permanentsalary: $115,000 - 140,000 per yearwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: Bachelors responsibilities:- Design, develop, implement, and continuously improve application and integration solutions.
- Participate in coding software development projects including scope definition, development, resource planning and allocation, and project status monitoring.
- Prioritize and assign work; conduct performance evaluations; ensure staff is trained; Document standard policies and procedures to improve operational effectiveness.
- Evaluate the organization's software applications use and needs, development methodologies, system performance, and external vendors/services and make improvement recommendations.
- Work with IT Managers to plan, develop and implement team and department goals in alignment with the goals and objectives of the organization.
- Manage application support and collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve production issues.
- Document processes and procedures to ensure data integrity and quality and comply with best practices in application development and management.
- Support 3rd party security assessments, external audits (e.g. SOC), and requests from Internal Audit as needed.
- Assist in maintaining data security and restoration policies, procedures, and controls.
- Prepare and present application project status, performance, and data reports.
- Keep up to date with technologies and trends in application development and management.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards
- Java, CSS, HTML, JPA, EJB, JavaScript, PL/SQL
- Legacy, Service Oriented, and Cloud Native Web Application architectures
- Waterfall, Agile, and other Development Methodologies
- Oracle database development and stored procedures
- REST and JSON APIs, SAML, other integration technologies, and platforms
- Electronic document and workflow systems
- Experience level: Experienced
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Education: Bachelors (required)
