I am seeking consultations, researching, and collecting estimates to fix my wavy and sagging full-house floor atopmy unfinished basement. I plan to startthe project in March 2026.

House Built: 1979

Floor Size: Roughly 1416 sq ft. [51ft x 27 ft, not including the 2 feet that rest on the foundation at each end].

Area of Town: South Nashville | Harding Place / Paragon Mills area

Issue: Sagging / Crowned ceiling floor

I have a recessed support beam that is perpendicular to 2x6 24in on center ceiling joists. The support beam is 55 ft in total length and built with two 2x8 Lumber beambetweentwo 2x8 lumber ledgers. They are all nailed (and possibly glued) together. From the basement, the support beam is very wavy across the entire length of the ceiling (stemming from the weight of the floor above). The worst areasare less than 1/4 inch uneven. The entire beam rests atop 4 support posts along withthe north and south cinderblockfoundation.

From the basement, the ceilingjoists are split between the support beam. On one side, all of the joists are 156 in. On the other side, all of the joists are 172 in. Many of the joists are either sagging or crowned (mostly sagging with one very crowned joist visible in the living room floor space).

I am looking for someone who can effectively sister my floor joists and lift my entire ceiling (from the basement) to create even flooring above the basement.

Serious inquiries only!
