If you'd like to help us build the place to find and buy anything online, this is your chance to make history.The Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) Finance team is seeking a Finance Manager to support Specialized Sourcing. This team owns a portfolio of systems and programs that manage and establish controllership over non-just in time buys for Amazon. Collectively, these decisions reduce out of stock rates for our customers while optimizing sourcing costs and improving vendor experience (VX) and performance of our vendors. You will work directly with a global team of operations research scientists, economists, machine learning specialists, software developers, and product managers who lead the industry in the development of innovative strategies to maximize long term profitability.This is a perfect position for someone who knows how to drive consensus across stakeholders, work fast, and smart. Support Specialized Sourcing programs that influence over half of the buying decisions for the Retail business, resulting in millions of decisions every day and billions of dollars every month.
Collecting, analyzing, and managing quantitative data to create meaningful reports to lead business improvement and cost reductions
Manage the development of weekly and monthly financial metrics, all planning, forecasting, and reporting models and their continuous innovation and communicating to your Operations and Retail partners
Root cause analysis and uncovering core issues using data to drive actions and improvements
Conduct ad hoc analysis to quantify financial impact of opportunities and risks
Communicating verbally and in writing to business customers and leadership team with various levels of technical knowledge, educating them about our systems, as well as sharing insights and recommendations.
Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely
A day in the lifeBasic Qualifications
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)
5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market.
