Benefits Manager
Tennessee, Nashville, 37201 Nashville USAThe Benefits Manage r is responsible for analyzing, administering, and developing benefits programs, ensuring compliance with laws & regulations as well as maintaining Amentum’s competitive benefits positioning in the marketplace for both CONUS and OCONUS. This is a remote-telework role. US Citizenship is required.Principal Accountabilities
Consult with employees and benefit plan providers, vendors, and administrators regarding benefit policies, eligibility and coverage issues, and enrollment procedures
Participate in benefits and/or total rewards surveys to collect, analyze, and summarize competitive benefits information to support benefits recommendations and management information needs
Assist with selection, evaluation, and ongoing management of benefit vendors and consultants;
Assists with the review of benefit documentation such as original and amended plan texts, benefit agreements and insurance policies. Instructs insurance carriers, trustees, and other administrative agencies outside the company to effect changes in benefit program. Ensures prompt and accurate compliance.
Assists in development of company bargaining proposals for union employee benefits and analyzes union benefits demands. Obtains and prepares cost data for company and union proposals and final settlements.
Process benefits invoicing, funding and backup reconciliation
Process payroll benefits deductions and reconciliation
Develop and distribute reports such as benefits utilization, trend analysis, claims, fees, and provider performance evaluations
Assists in administration of benefits enrollment process, which includes facilitation of open enrollment meetings, Benefits Administrator setup and testing, cost share calculation and review, benefits structure creation and programming, and payroll deduction processing
Liaison with auditors and assist with compliance audits (Internal Audit, SOX, and DCAA), escalating issues to Senior Leadership as needed.
Partner with Business Development during the bid process to ensure compliance with various governmental regulations affecting benefits and contracting, such as the Service Contract Act (SCA)
Maintain knowledge of government regulations including health care reform
Research and resolve escalated employee issues with benefits deductions, benefits enrollment and other benefits related concerns.

Knowledge & Skills
Working knowledge of domestic and international benefits laws & regulations
Demonstrated knowledge of employee health and welfare benefits, associated processes, and procedures including Section 125 regulations, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, IRS, FLSA regulations
Knowledge of WorkDay HRMS module
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an ability to communicate with a wide variety of levels and positions within the organization
Effective leadership and interpersonal skills with an ability to develop productive working relationships with others
Good organizational, analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft applications with demonstrated ability to create reports and charts in Excel
Ability to work with confidential materials and employee information and maintain confidentiality at all times
Experience & Education
Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years’ experience in human resources may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college
Minimum of Eight (8) years of experience in benefits, accounting/finance, and/or human resources; preferred
Experience with Government Contracting and Service Contract Act is preferred
