Staff Accountant

If you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close, you will be preferred for this position. Candidates who can participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes will be preferred for this role. We're looking for people who have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.Major responsibilities

Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

Take part in various department-wide initiatives

Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries Requirements - Competent with spreadsheets and databases

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

Strong attention to detail

Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills

Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Experience with ERP systems

Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred

Expertise in Analyze Variance

Month-end Close Activities experience

Sales tax experience highly desired

Accounts Payable (AP) experience
