(https://www.xerox.com/en-us/jobs/diversity)Job Summary:The Senior Database Administrator responsibilities include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (e.g. database backups, maintenance and monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs. In addition to responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with application developers and systems engineers to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.Duties and responsibilities:
Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration
Troubleshooting and resolving database problems
Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Error identification, analysis and remediation
Assistance with backups, restores, replication and recovery models
SQL reporting and SSIS packages
Developing SQL Jobs for data exports, data purges, error monitoring and investigate/resolve job failures
Performing High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MS SQL Server, including database clustering and log shipping
Implementing operational automation using scripts
Use of indexes, index management, and statistics
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred
7+ years IT operations with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
7+ years Microsoft SQL Server experience
An understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments
Experience with data management and data processing techniques
Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
Application development experience in one or more of the following technologies: MS Commerce Server, Content Management Systems, .NET, AJAX and jQuery
Be an active member of the application deployment team and periodically responsible for deploying code to Test, UAT, or production
Experience working in an enterprise level eCommerce environment
Involvement with the MS SQL Server Community; active in forums or newsgroups.

Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Working conditions:
Occasional travel to clients for meetings and onsite work
