Join us in our mission to create a Planet Run by the Sun.About Sunrun VP of Technology Product Management The Sunrun technology organization is seeking a VP of Product Management to join our team to help build and mentor a team that can lead us into the next phase of our digital journey. In this role, you and your team will be responsible for owning and evolving industry leading products including, our ecommerce platform, customer platform, sales platform, design tools platform and virtual power plant offering – inclusive of all services and systems required to deliver these experiences.Working closely with engineering leaders and business strategy leaders, you will be responsible for taking overarching business objectives and strategies and manifesting them as products and features in our roadmap. Your team will be responsible for owning the day-to-day identification, management and prioritization of features and product roadmaps optimized toward customer satisfaction and ROI. Key to this role will be your ability to communicate product strategy effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders and balance the demands of the business with technical priorities. The portfolio encompasses very large platform initiatives to kanban-style agile delivery for Sunrun subsidiaries. Additionally, this role is a critical part of the CTO Direct Reports group - a high-trust team that sets strategy for the greater Technology organization.The role requires US-based travel to meet with customers, partners, and commercial stakeholders (approximately 30-40%). It reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer and partners closely with the Strategic Initiatives team, other Technology and Engineering leaders, and commercial stakeholders to create large commercial unlocks for Sunrun customers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead, recruit, retain, and grow a high performance Technical Product Management team

Partner with Strategic Initiatives organization to influence and intake major initiatives to drive huge commercial unlocks for Sunrun. Orchestrate initiatives and many products into a cohesive and understandable roadmap that leverages shared services and infrastructure

Drive delivery and roadmap for all software initiatives of all sizes through team leadership, including collaborating with engineering leaders and commercial leaders to make clear tradeoffs and recommendations for high ROI execution against commercial strategies

Communicate clearly to commercial stakeholders current state of portfolio, including current or perceived delivery risks,changes to scope or timing. Actively partner with leaders to, where needed, adjust delivery approach or roadmap based on the above.

Own the budget and investments in the Technology Product Management team

Critical member of the Technology Leadership team, reporting directly to Chief Technology Officer

Requires travel up to 30-40% of the time

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS)

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).

Experience: Minimum of 15 years of work experience as a leader of Technology Product Management teams. Focus on e-commerce and mobile application solutions is a plus

Leadership: Recruits, retains, and grows high performing team members, and establishes a culture of delivery and high ROI technical programs

Balanced Commercial and Technical Judgment: Commercially-minded technical leader who can effectively drive the right effort vs. impact tradeoff decisions. Understands deeply the commercial needs and what technical tradeoffs need to be made in order to unblock key technology teams and can communicate the impacts of those decisions to a non-technical audience.

Communication and listening: Clearly and concisely communicates to technical and non-technical audiences. Builds high-trust relationships with peers and partners, operating in sync with the commercial teams.

Ownership and Accountability: Takes full accountability for and drives results for the portfolio of technology programs, driving responsibility into individual TPMs on the team.

Customer Obsession: Has high degree of customer empathy and drive to understand customers; uses insight to guide product priorities and solution definition. Understands and executes with a design-led process and mentality.

Product and business judgment: Contextualizes business decisions across company, industry and all stakeholders. Holds a balanced perspective with an appreciation for risks, rewards and execution. Can articulate decisions, highlight risks and operate with a balanced view of decisions.

Adaptability: Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions; anticipates and copes effectively with the complexity of change

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to perform normal office duties.

Ability to operate office equipment including computers and determine accuracy of work.

Ability to interact and participate in meetings.

Similar positions located outside of these locations will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.
