Senior Refrigeration Engineer
South Carolina, Capetown 00000 Capetown USAKey Role: Providing a consulting engineering service for the design, implementation and close-out of commercial refrigeration installations. This role comprises of a holistic refrigeration consulting spectrum from inception, detail design, documentation and procurement, construction, site monitoring and project closeout. The candidate should illustrate a track record of client relations and leadership in refrigeration projects. It is furthermore necessary for the incumbent to have a working knowledge of technological design tools for efficient and quality design outputs. This role will comprise of predominantly refrigeration installations but may include HVAC projects.Key Responsibilities: Proficient in, heat load calculationsThorough understanding of South African National Standards (SANS – including 10147 & SANS 347), understanding of British Standards, ASHRAE, etc. will be advantageous)Design, based on client requirements and specificationsProficient in various modeling software and a working knowledge of BIM is essential (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, etc.)Proficient in all project stages from inception through to close-out and competent in constructing and compiling tender documentation and management of that process.Formulation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ’s)Specialist equipment specifications understanding and approvalsQuality control (QA/QC)Site supervision and construction monitoringTrouble shooting existing installationsCost control (related to HVAC & R only)Project scoping and scope monitoringContractor and contract management (mechanical Refrigeration and HVAC discipline)Health And Safety:Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behaviour consistent with the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around youContributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero HarmEmbracing, displaying and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times, whether in the office environment, on construction sites or in the general environmentKey Competencies and Generic Skills:Computer literacy skills (e.g. MS packages)Experience in various Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360 suite)Must be self-motivatedTeam playerExcellent communicator and good discussion and problem resolution skillsA self-starter who can run with and manage his own projects with the guidance of a senior engineerMust be responsible and have a high level of self-sufficiency and be able to apply common senseMust have a questioning and inquisitive mindCode B drivers’ licence (preferably own car)Willing and able to travel abroad
