Nestled on 40 acres overlooking the southwestern corner of Narragansett Bay, Castle Hill Inn – a Relais & Chateaux hotel – is a coastal haven where guests come to relax and rejuvenate against a spectacular New England backdrop, a location that is second to none. The property features guest rooms that are perched on the sand dunes of our private beach, a banquet facility, and two restaurants featuring the talents of the culinary team. About the Position: In the Chef de Cuisine role, you will assist in the Direction of all activities of kitchen and directs training of Sous Chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers engaged in preparing and cooking foods to ensure an efficient, profitable, safe and sanitary food service.
About You: You have a passion for cooking, ingredients, and technique. This position is perfect for a motivated individual with management and interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties:
Supervises cooking, other kitchen and front of house personnel, coordinates their assignments to ensure economical and timely food service production.
Observes methods of food preparation and cooking, sizes of portions, and garnishing of foods to ensure food is prepared in prescribed manner.
Devises special dishes and develops recipes
Assist in the creation and maintenance of menu planning.
Reviews menus, analyzes recipes, determines food, labor, and overhead costs, and participates in the assignment of prices to menu items.
Qualifications:
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or five to ten years related experience and/or training
Must have flexible schedule to work during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
Skills & Abilities:
Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds
Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive compensation $80,000-$100,000/Year
