System One is currently seeking a Mechanical Department Manager for an industry-leading client in the Warrendale, PA area. Responsibilities:

Responsible for the managerial direction of the department.

Provides supervision and guidance related to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.

Determines technical and professional staffing needs – hires, manages, and motivates personnel.

Provides work assignments and reviews performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff. Performs performance reviews.

Serves as a technical advisor, provides senior-level input and evaluation on projects.

Establishes and maintains quality and accuracy standards.

Reviews and approves completed engineering documentation.

Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems.

Determines program objectives and requirements, organizes projects and develops standards and guidelines. Works cooperatively with other managers to achieve the company’s mission.

Performs construction management and/or field engineering duties on assigned field construction projects, as needed. Uses Deltek for completion and approvals of weekly time reports, expense statements, and project reporting to project management, department management, and upper management.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science - Mechanical Engineering- Masters Preferred

15+ Years of Engineering Experience

PE Certification.

Subcontractor Management

Vendor Management

Budget planning, tracking, and reporting

Change Order preparation and negotiation

Proposal Preparation

Technical Writing

Staff Management

Contract Management

Project forecasting

Deltek experience is Preferred

PMP certification is Preferred
