Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, 15201 Pittsburgh USACourier - M-F 8:30-5PMThe Department of Family Medicine is seeking a candidate familiar with Allegheny County, who will serve as a courier for research samples of biological materials, using a University rental car. Must be willing and able to travel to different sites throughout the extended Pittsburgh metropolitan area, during all types of weather.Candidate must be dependable, prompt, with the ability to follow the specimen handling protocols which require careful attention to detail, and maintain a professional demeanor. This position requires the incumbent to use good judgment and discretion, follow a schedule of pick-ups and deliveries, act independently when applicable, be willing and flexible to make multiple courier runs in a day if needed and adjust to schedule changes. Deliveries may need to be made 6 days/week.Incumbent must obtain appropriate clearances and complete human subjects protection training. Additionally, the incumbent must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, TB test, and physical.Must keep the rental car in good condition and return it clean at the end of the assignment. Must be prepared to responsibly report any parking or traffic violation as well as incidents resulting in damage to the vehicle.A High School Diploma or GED and a valid drivers license is required.The University of Pittsburgh is committed to championing all aspects of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility within our community.
