We’re looking to add industrial sewing machine operators to the team. We’re seeking motivated individuals who have a passion for clothing and value attention to detail. We’re interested in full-time applicants but are willing to consider part-time applicants as well.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Sewing using industrial sewing machines
Pinning, marking, trimming
Taking measurements
Fitting garments and making adjustments
Full knowledge of the complete alterations process
Ability to sew a wide range of garments
Possession of strong technical background
Pressing and spotting skills
Open to learning and developing new skills and processes
Prior experience with high-end clothing preferred
Exceptional at keeping things organized
Impeccable time management skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work within tight deadlines
Strong desire to develop, learn, and grow through hands-on experience
Experience in making custom-made clothing
Great communication skills
Experience:
2+years of industrial sewing and or 2+ years as a seamstress/tailor
Education:
High school or equivalent
License:
Drivers license
Work Environment:
The work environment for this job is a production studio, which is heated and air-conditioned. The noise level is usually moderate due to sewing machines. This position requires frequent walking as well as sitting at a desk or sewing machine. Additionally, the position may require lifting and/or pulling of textiles.
Physical Demands:
The position requires that the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to fingers such as with a sewing machine. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
