This position works closely with faculty leaders and staff to manage the development and ongoing implementation of paper series and prizes, research funding, student fellowships, predoctoral programs, and other related activities. This position reports to the Managing Director of the Finance Pillar.The Senior Associate Director's responsibilities will include:

Manage the administration of faculty and student research support for finance research centers and initiatives. Direct schedules and timelines for the ongoing implementation of these activities, and provide organizational support to center faculty directors.

Oversee internal marketing to promote calls for papers and research proposals, prizes, fellowships, and other opportunities to faculty and students. Identify appropriate audiences and methods of outreach, and build and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, students, and academic departments.

Manage the administration of the Rodney White Center's Pre-Doctoral Research Associate Program, including hiring, onboarding, and other human resources functions. Serve as a point of contact for research associates and their faculty supervisors.

Work with Rodney White Center faculty directors to plan to execute annual PhD Summer School, managing space reservations, communications with program participants, and other event logistics.

In consultation with center faculty directors, develop and maintain budgets for research support initiatives.

Work collaboratively with the Senior Communications Specialist for finance initiatives and centers and Wharton MarComm to highlight and amplify the centers' academic output. Assist in efforts to translate academic research into easily digestible content for broad audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required and 5-7 years of experience in program and project management or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong organizational skills and a willingness to work collaboratively across teams and departments.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability manage relationships with faculty, university staff, and students.

Must be able to develop and manage program budgets.

The ability to manage multiple responsibilities and exercise independent judgment and discretion.

Skills in the Microsoft Office suite, including strong excel skills for creation and management of reports.

Familiarity with current research topics in finance.

Experience hiring and managing staff in an academic setting.
