JOB DESCRIPTION
About the Role
The Accounting Architecture intern role will report to the VP of Accounting Architecture. The GFO AA intern will interact with a diverse group of global stakeholders, including finance functions (receivables, payables, general accounting, reinsurance, treasury, etc.), IT, divisional leadership and other project participants at various levels, including external vendors. This role will help document accounting solutions, test accounting output, and track and communicate findings from testing. Critical factors to success include: ability to think critically to solve issues/problems, detailed oriented, ability to multitask, meet deadlines, work in a team as well as independently, strong grasp of accounting, and the desire and ability to learn.General Requirements
Participate in discussions regarding accounting requirements across impacted team
Provide updates to manager and project managers
Compile reconciliation requirements, documentation, flows and approach
Perform testing, identifying, tracking and communicating issues to manager and project managerSpecific to This Role
Documentation of Project, including
Accounting flow as resulting from system triggers (Visio)
Accounting requirements discussions
Participate in project discussions, including across teams (functional, overall PM, treasury, reconciliations, business groups, IT)
Provide notes of the discussion in timely manner
Ask questions based on your understanding and the goal of the project
Assist with defining GL account reconciliation solutions, including matching rules, identifying support sources, documentation of approach, testing and handoff to reconciliation owner
Perform accounting testing
Support and document UAT accounting requirements, including setting up test tracking
Execute testing adhering to agreed upon timelines
Communicate findings to manager, and assist with communication across impacted teamsQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting preferred with Finance or Operations understanding
