Physician's Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

- • Valid and current registration as a professional Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner
- • Minimum of 3 years recent experience in acute care, ambulatory care, Medical/Surgical or psychiatric care facility.
- • One year, or more, of experience in a correctional environment is preferred, but not required
- • Experience in a correctional health care setting preferred, but not required.
- • Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- • ACLS certification, preferred.
- • Current Negative TB Test Results
- • Proof of any vaccinations, including Hepatitis B and COVID -19
- • HCA Solutions is currently seeking qualified candidates to serve as Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner in the Federal Detention Center (FDC) in Philadelphia, PA!
- • The position is contract (W2), full-time, with long term placement. Schedule is five (5) days per week, normally consisting of a total of forty (40), one-hour (1) sessions per day, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., with a 30 minute unpaid lunch period.
- • Provide Physician Assistant services which includes, but is not limited to:
- • Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate
- • Take medical histories, examine patients, and order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays
- • Make a diagnosis, provide treatment plans and prescribe medications
- • Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing
- • Attend to medical emergencies
- • Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation, instruct and counsel, and order or carry out therapy
- • Emergency consultation to be performed by the contractor in instances where deemed necessary. Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visits
- • Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plans
- • Assists in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of the health care services
- • Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems
- • Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call; which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluations
- • Administers and documents medications accurately according to policy/procedure and physician orders. Administers immunizations and tuberculin skin testing as ordered.
