DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Description: In this role, the Prevention Specialist will be needed for Tobacco contract initiatives which include working with youth for tobacco and vaping education, recruiting youth for Tobacco Resistance Initiative (TRU), Vaping cessation programming, and legislative visits to keep Master Settlement Agreement funding level for Prevention work.In addition, the Prevention Specialist will work across Chester County to promote the new County-wide Stall Story initiative. This would include meeting with schools and other organizations to increase the awareness for monthly campaigns for Prevention.Schedule Details: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (some evenings and weekends required)

Pay Rate: $17 /hourJob Functions:
Effectively implement program goals regarding service delivery
Maintain effective and efficient communication with the direct supervisor
Report to direct supervisor, and other staff as required, in a timely and comprehensive manner
Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor
Maintain compliance with all the necessary training requirements and personnel documentation standards
Complete all required training as per Professional Development Plan
Submit to Human Resources copies of all the necessary documentation regarding degrees, licenses, certifications, clearances, and formal pieces of training
Possess and apply knowledge of all laws, regulations, contractual requirements, and agency policies and procedures governing the operation of their program
Provide services in full compliance with all applicable licensing standards, contractual requirements and all agency policies and procedures
Report incidents through the incident management system in a timely and effective manner
Establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with schools, community members, community support service representatives, and agencies
Work within a group to develop internal systems to improve or ensure quality services
Participate in agency or department committees
Submit accurate and timely timecards and expense reports
Maintain accurate records of services provided and submit records promptly as dictated by program
Possess knowledge of Best Practice Standards of ATOD prevention programming, and principles of cultural competency
Deliver all program services as compliant with Best Practice Prevention standards and utilize culturally competent principles
Develop the knowledge and skills to implement prevention programming in schools effectively and community settings
Prepare complete lesson plans before program delivery
Provide evaluation tools to participants and collect as the program dictatesMinimum Requirements:
Education: B.A. in education/or health discipline or a minimum of 2 years experience working with youth or
families in a related settingExperience: Prior experience working with youth or familiesLicensure/Certifications: None RequiredClearances: Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal clearance, and verification that the employee is not on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion listNote: At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted instead of the requirements specified under Education and ExperiencePreferred
