Pennsylvania, Lancaster, 17601 Lancaster USADescription We are in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry, located in Lancaster, South Carolina. We are seeking a Medical Records Clerk to join our team. This role is focused on managing and maintaining medical records within a healthcare setting. The position is based on-site and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Collecting and managing patient charts, focusing on behavioral and mental health records Abstracting medical records and preparing them for coding Handling inbound calls and providing timely responses to inquiries Managing email communication related to medical coding and charting Utilizing medical terminology knowledge to ensure accurate record keeping Performing auditing tasks on medical records for quality assurance Carrying out billing functions related to medical records and services Operating EHR System and other medical software like Allscripts, AHLTA, Cerner Technologies, and Epic Software Maintaining compliance with medical charting and coding standards Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite for various administrative tasks. Requirements Proficiency in using medical software such as Allscripts, Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), Cerner Technologies, EHR SYSTEM, and Epic Software. Ability to handle tasks related to answering inbound calls professionally and efficiently. Demonstrated skills in auditing and billing functions. Experience with chart and graph creation and interpretation. Expertise in claim administration and the ability to manage medical charts. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to expand this knowledge as needed. Experience with medical coding and understanding of its application in a healthcare setting. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals effectively. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification. Previous experience in a medical records or health information role would be advantageous.
