Personal Care Assistant Needed For Middle-Age Man Who Is Paralyzed From His Chest Down

Hours: Monday thru Friday, 9:30AM to 3:30PM (with option to work some Saturdays).

No experience needed. Willing to train the right person. THIS IS A LONG TERM OPPORTUNITY TO ASSIST AN OTHERWISE HEALTHY PERSON.

Responsibilities include helping with the following:

- transferring in and out of bed

- bed bath

- getting dressed/undressed

- positioning

- meal prep, serving and cleanup

- sitting up in bed

- draining/cleaning foley catheter and emptying/cleaning collection bag

- accompanying me on doctor visits

- interacting with computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Google Chrome

- writing/reading emails and texts

- making phone calls

- light housework (Vacuuming and dusting and straightening up my area)

Requirements:

- have own vehicle

- be able to pass FBI clearance check

- be detail oriented and able to follow specific instruction

- be in reasonably good condition as I am over 6 ft tall, about 180 pounds and do need

assistance sitting up in bed and getting in and out of wheelchair. We will train on proper techniques.

- have short fingernails

- accommodating and flexible as duties will change from day to day

- be willing to wear a mask when in the same room as me.

- provide 2 work related references

- be cat-friendly

Preferences:

- vaccinated against flu and covid, and stay current with boosters

- be able to cook

- be able to work additional hours so my parents can go on vacation

I live in a safe suburban neighborhood about 4 miles north of Hummelstown, so coming and going would not be a concern.
