THE POSITION

In this position, you will provide professional geologic assistance to your team and also teams that would benefit from your research. One main focus will be managing data, including spatial data using geographic information systems (GIS). Additionally, you will assist in maintenance of the Commonwealth Water Use Data System (WUDS), while also assisting in the updates and ongoing maintenance of the State Water Plan. You will also be expected to do research using literature, professional papers, and journals related to the use of hydrogeologic practices and principles in the development of water budgets, integrated water resource plans and broad-based comprehensive plans, and programs to promote effective development, use, and conservation of water and related resources.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Salary:Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,678 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirements:This position requires possession of an active license as a professional geologist issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
