Will also consider, Midland, MI, Lake Jackson, TX, and Virtual Office- United States.As a key member of our team, this position will spearhead the dynamic development and meticulous execution of Dow Coatings' Pavement Markings government affairs and trade association strategy in the US & Canada. Your assertive approach will not only drive but elevate our business agenda and development priorities. You will be the face of Dow, passionately interacting and representing the company with diverse stakeholders at every level of government and across the entire value chain.Responsibilities

Own the commercial relationship with non-customer value chain partners, such as road owners/Departments of Transportation, contractors and applicators, equipment manufacturers, associations, universities, and all other key influencers of pavement marking selection.

Maintain a market-driven outside-in view to translate insights into actionable strategies with the Market Management Team (MMT). Keep broad awareness of trends in the Pavement Marking industry and how they relate to business development opportunities, serving as a core member of the global Pavement Marking MMT and providing information on trends and unmet customer needs.

Promote Dow's portfolio of commercialized and developing products, technologies, and application expertise throughout the value chain through presentation and demonstration. Drive discussions on total cost of ownership and quantified value propositions, engaging cross-functional Dow stakeholders at every turn.

Commercialize project opportunities that result in new and/or improved pavement markings on the road that have been enabled by Dow-driven collaborations, technologies and/or expertise that increase total value creation and improve sustainability and total cost of ownership

Assist in driving the strategy implementation for target market segments identified in US&CAN. Assist in developing annual detailed implementation plan aligned to global strategy to deliver segment growth. Develop state-specific market entry plan to mirror the segment’s growth strategy.

Lead the construction and management of a comprehensive map of key government stakeholders, decision-makers and influencers and use this to systematically build and maintain relations and provide a sound platform for engagement.

Enhance Dow's reputation and provide appropriate negotiation or collaboration with NGO groups as part of a broad issues management strategy.

Executes state, federal or regional advocacy positions and strategies on legislative, policy and political issues impacting Dow Pavement Markings.

Serves as primary contact for interfaces with the State Legislature and/or State Agencies in transportation related area(s)

Engages team members on critical value chain issues and trends at the federal, state and local level and educates the team with critical talking points.

Strengthen internal collaboration across other government-facing Dow businesses.

Skills, knowledge and abilities:Strategic Focus:Understand marketing 4P’s, segmentation, targeting and positioning principles of marketing. Ability to quickly grasp the technical nature of our product offering and how it addresses the total cost of ownership for our value chain.Implementation:Understands specific needs, strategy, and competitive issues of local customers. Demonstrated history of quantifying, taking and managing risks.Stakeholder Engagement:Ability to build networks and lead industry coalitions with similar agendas, engaging decision-makers and influencers, systematically building and keeping relations to provide a robust platform for engagement. Skilled communicating the value proposition of Dow’s technologies and solutions to policy makers to generate understanding and support.Communication:Strong public speaking, presentation, and listening skills, for both internal and external audiences. Must be able to synthesize data and details and then summarize for diverse audiences.Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant.

7+ years of relevant experience

A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications

A degree in Marketing, Communications, or technical discipline is preferred. Knowledge of Pavement Markings and road infrastructure markets and applications via prior work experience is preferred.

Minimum 10 years of related industry experience.

Experience in government influence from a Commercial or Technical perspective is preferred.

Organizational skills and proven ability to successfully execute political or business goals.

Experience in translating business goals into results through the development and execution of an effective advocacy strategy and relationship program.

MBA preferred
