Project Summary:The Data Science Intern will support various data-driven projects aimed at enhancing our research and development initiatives. The intern will be involved in tasks that may include data engineering, data science, and data visualization to improve our data capabilities and drive innovation in construction materials. The intern will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze data, build models, develop visualizations, and implement data solutions that support decision-making processes across the organization.Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the collection, cleaning, and transformation of data from multiple sources to support various R&D projects.

Develop and maintain data pipelines to ensure accurate and efficient data flow and processing.

Build and optimize machine learning models to extract insights and forecast trends.

Collaborate with the team to design, develop, and implement data visualizations and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Alteryx, or similar.

Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations within large datasets.

Participate in the documentation of data models, methodologies, and findings.

Contribute to the integration of advanced data science techniques (e.g., computer vision, natural language processing) into existing processes.

Present analysis results and findings to stakeholders through reports, visualizations, and presentations.

Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data science, machine learning, data engineering, and Generative AI.

Support the team in evaluating and adopting new technologies and methodologies by staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data science, data engineering and Generative AI.

Qualification:

Currently pursuing a Master's degree or a PhD in Computer Science, Material Science, or a related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.

Azure

Strong programming skills in Python and experience with libraries such as Pandas, Shapely, OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, Streamlit.

Basic understanding of machine learning principles and image processing techniques.

A keen interest in the applications of AI and computer vision in the construction materials industry.

Proactive, problem solving, highly organized and detail-oriented person, able to work independently or in a group with excellent communication skills.
