herdsman/milker for small dairy

Flint Hill Farm Educational Center is a nonprofit AG-ED Center serving the Greater Lehigh Valley. Our dairy herd of 9 Jersey Cows are milked twice a day. We also presently have milk goats and sheep due to kid and lamb in the spring. Knowledge of running a tractor and other farm machinery a plus.

Job description -approximately 6hrs a day:

1. Milking 9 cows- 6am-8:30 and 4pm-6:30.

Additional 1-2 hrs per week

2. Feeding goats/sheep and cows hay and grain

3. Cleaning 2 cow sheds 2x per week

4. Cleaning and filling water troughs and barn buckets

5. Cleaning of Goat barn once a week

6. Assisting with goat, sheep and calving

7.Summer mowing of cow fields and setting up rotational pastures

8. Assisting with hay storage during hay season

Housing-cottage- available on farm site as part of salary option
