Farm Work - Flour Milling

This is a full time position on a certified organic farm. We grow wheat and mill it into flour for retail and wholesale distribution. The work entails running the cleaner to clean up the wheat post harvest, milling and packaging the flour and getting it ready for shipment. Right now the production volume is fairly low so there are a lot of other farm duties to attend to when you aren't milling. Gardening, planting, weeding, irrigating and occasionally playing with a very needy dog.

We realize that we are unlikely to find an experienced miller locally and we are willing to train the right person. If you have milling experience, we'll pay more.

You will need to be able to regularly lift and move 50 pound bags, wear a dust respirator when milling and be able to handle heavier barrels of wheat to tip and dump them. This work does require good upper body strength.

You will also need your own reliable transportation to work. Rides from friends and family are not sustainable over the long term.
