Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Oregon, Portland, 97201 Portland USAStellar J, a West Coast based General Contractor, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at the corporate office in Woodland, Washington.

Typical projects include water treatment plants, bridges, marine terminals, and renewable energy plants that produce RNG, Hydrogen, Electricity, and other green energy processes.
Primary Responsibilities
Assists in loading and unloading of equipment and materials
Assists in service and repair of company-owned equipment
Basic trouble shooting skills for a variety of equipment manufacturers and vehicles
Maintain clean driving record at all times
Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
Operates company vehicles safely and in accordance with traffic rules and regulations
Performs preparation and cleanup of construction equipment as directed Shop Manager
Performs receiving function of delivered equipment and materials; Ensures paperwork is accurately completed and delivered to the appropriate department
Promptly reports equipment problems, shortages, or unsafe conditions to Shop Manager
Repair and complete ongoing maintenance/service of heavy equipment both at headquarters and jobsites
Uses sound judgment to deal with and eliminate safety related issues
Utilizes company tools and equipment safely and properly
Qualifications
Heavy equipment experience required
Field experience in construction related position preferred
Experience with dump trucks, excavation equipment
Diesel, gas, electrical, hydraulic knowledge, including parts manuals
Methods, materials, equipment and operation of heavy equipment and mechanical repairs
Automotive repair experience a plus
Clean Driving Record required
Driver’s license, CDL class A or B a plus
Welding and fabrication experience preferred
Willing to travel, some overnight depending on jobsite locations
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft suite
Basic set of tools to perform maintenance on trucks/heavy equipment
High School Diploma
