Operations Manager / Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our growing team in Aurora, Oregon. The successful candidate will be responsible for management of all phases of project activities that range from small to large in value and a variety of scopes including design, procurement, and construction. Assists in the preparation work plans, supervises installation teams, and manages project scope, budget, and schedule. This position will be part of an operations team and will work on civil construction projects.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Document management including production, review, and tracking of submittals and RFIs.
Assist in preparing and updating all assigned project schedules, including subcontractors and material
deliveries.
Assist in pre-construction activities including take-offs, bid solicitation, bid review and assembly of final
project budgets.
Attend and participate in weekly project meetings.
Proof documents for accuracy against project drawings and specifications.
Assist in identifying conflicts and work to find and implement solutions.
Implement, monitor, and help to enforce the company safety and quality standards.
Responsible for all phases of planning and execution on small projects as defined by low potential risk,
complexity, manpower requirements and/or contract value.
Oversight of daily activities of project personnel including technical and administrative support and ensures
that deliverables are produced on schedule and within budget.
May have responsibility for multiple projects.
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years’ experience in professional construction environment preferred.
Ability and willingness to research codes and project related specifications.
Able to apply knowledge and skills to complete own work.
Understands relationships between work processes and the business.
Is aware of costs related to assigned work.
Organizes own work to meet deadlines set by General Manager.
Communicates information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
Builds team effectiveness skills within own work team.
Proficient in MS Office with emphasis in Microsoft Excel
