TITLE Community Solar Manager

COMPENSATION $66,500 to $75,000 annually, (full-time, exempt), paid sick and vacation; fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance; and other benefits listed below.

POSITION SUMMARY

CEP is the Low-Income Facilitator for the Oregon Community Solar Program and is responsible for engaging with communities that have been traditionally left out of the solar market, such as those with lower incomes and people of color. This position manages the solar coordinators, who conduct education, intake, outreach, and enrollment of participants. This would include managing operations flow, conducting and organizing outreach based on equity goals within the program and project availability.

The Manager will work closely with solar developers, who own the individual projects. As part of the certification process, these Project Managers must have a certain number of low-income participants enrolled in each project. The Manager would help to maintain accurate databases, track proposals and documentation, prioritize projects for assignment, track kWh goals, and more. This position may require travel around Oregon for program outreach, in-person presentations, and community events. Work is currently hybrid remote and in-office and subject to change based on organization and program needs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Solar Project Management

Work closely with Project Managers and Subscription Managers to get projects certified with the low-income requirement, including reviewing contract templates, updating systems and plans with project delays, analyzing data and writing reports, etc.

Review marketing plans, track recruitment goals, prioritize project recruitment based on project timelines, track project enrollment/certification, etc.

Operations management: gathering and tracking paperwork, onboarding Project Managers, tracking certification timelines and priorities, updated marketing plans, lead management, enrollment support

Outreach and Recruitment Management

Manage overall marketing plan based on project enrollment needs and equity goals, as well as tracking, updating, and keeping all marketing materials on brand

Engagement and education with the public at large including partner research, outreach planning and presentation delivery

Relationship-building with other CBOs, municipalities, etc.

Data Management & Organization

Oversee and troubleshoot complex databases and work across multiple platforms including accurate and timely data entry.

Conduct regular audits on databases to ensure accuracy.

Manage and tracking participants via custom online platform while leading them through the program from initial interest to contract signing

Includes Excel, Sharepoint, Salesforce, Acuity, Google Drive, Docusign, and Slack

Personnel Management

Manage Solar Coordinator(s)

Conduct annual performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, personnel changes, etc.

Provide training and onboarding for new staff, interns, and/or volunteers.

Fill in for coordinator positions during turnover, illness, vacations, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

Experience in personnel management

Experience in managing data, including data entry, troubleshooting, data analysis, reporting, and program evaluation is crucial.

Experience in tracking/managing operations across multiple partners, departments, etc.

Experience with customer service and/or public speaking

Knowledge about and passion for renewable energy or solar development preferred

Bicultural/Bilingual in Spanish, Russian, or Vietnamese preferred

Experience in adult education; diversity, equity, and inclusion, and/or environmental justice

Excellent interpersonal skills—able to communicate effectively with diverse organizations with different philosophies and goals

Must be able to work flexible schedule - evenings, weekends, and intermittent overnight travel

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and access to a vehicle, willingness to travel around state, sometimes for several nights

Additional:

Position requires extensive time sitting in front of a computer, as well as long periods of time standing while working out in the field at community events, workshops, and training events.

May travel nationally to attend conferences for up to one week at a time
